Subject: SuperTCP/NFS v4.0
We recently installed SuperTCP/NFS v4.0. (or tried to)
Our test system: 486SX 33MHz 8MB Ram 14.4k Dialup SL/IP.
Here's the problem:
SuperTCP Kernel gives the proper messages that indicate it has made a
successful SL/IP Connection, but when - any - Winsock application is run
as soon as it tries to do a net operation the modem hangs up.
Yes, the connection is set for regular SL/IP (not CSLIP) on both ends.
Is there anyway to see what is happening (like the "Log" function in
Chameleon) ?
Has anyone else had this problem ?
All suggestions are welcome.

Adding an Ethernet card won't do any good at all unless you have an
Ethernet to connect it to. Since the connection you have available is
serial, not Ethernet, it won't work for you.
You should be able to do somewhat better than 1K/second with a 14.4 modem,
IF the host you're calling also has one. Perhaps your host only has 9600?
I've personally gotten about 1.5K per second FTPing compressed files, and
over 3K/second moving text; this is with 14.4 modems on both ends, V.42bis
data compression turned on, and port speeds of 38400.
